Elbert County is a county in the State of Colorado of the United States. The county population was 19,872 at U.S. Census 2000. The county seat is Kiowa.
History
The county was named for Samuel Hitt Elbert, the Governor of the Territory of Colorado when the county was formed on February 2, 1874.
